Was Munaf indeed Nagesh's inspiration?

Was reading an article in today's TOI on Munaf Patel. Couldn't help notice that like Iqbal, Munaf's father was also against the idea of his son playing cricket and that in the initial period, Munaf was focussing just on speed and it was Chandrakant Pandit and the guy at MRF pace acadamey that 'taught' him to bowl intelligently rather than concentrating purely on bowling fast.
